August 6, 1953: Garfunkel impresses fellow elementary school student Paul Simon by smashing a cinder block with his fist.

September 3, 1957: Simon & Garfunkel’s first single, “Hey, Schoolgirl,” reaches #49 on the pop charts. In celebration, Garfunkel smashes seven bricks and challenges an interviewer to a street fight.

March 5, 1966: While recording “The Sound of Silence,” a technician asks to try a take with only Paul Simon. Garfunkel responds with a flurry of roundhouse kicks in the control room, destroying three expensive consoles and entering a six-day-long state of zanshin, or “relaxed awareness.”

June 16, 1967: Simon & Garfunkel perform at the Monterey Pop Festival. During the second encore, Garfunkel begins to refer to himself as Li Xiaolong, or “Little Dragon.”

June 17, 1967: Garfunkel petitions the Oxford English Dictionary to change the definition of “dragon” to “noun. a little Garfunkel.” Receives no response.

December 21, 1967: At the premiere for “The Graduate” — for which Simon & Garfunkel’s song “Mrs. Robinson” will win a Grammy — Dustin Hoffman is found with eight throwing stars embedded in his chest.

October 15, 1970: Garfunkel catches Paul Simon attempting to record vocals for “Bridge Over Troubled Water.” Applies hadaka jime, or “naked strangle,” to Simon’s larynx. Garfunkel sings lead vocals in a state of zanshin.

October 21, 1970: Asked for comment shortly after the incident, Garfunkel challenges the interviewer to a street fight, releases a smoke bomb that was concealed in his hair, disappears.

1971-1980: No sightings.

January 10, 1981: Reports surface of a curly-haired man lurking in the shadows of the Sunset Blvd. Guitar Center, begging strangers to sing any melody while he harmonizes and smashes building materials with his forehead.

September 19, 1981: At Concert In Central Park, Garfunkel jumps into front row, issuing flurries of roundhouse kicks and open-palm strikes. Audience sections A through C are rushed to the hospital, many requiring stitches. In response to crowd disapproval, Garfunkel challenges all 500,000 in attendance to a cage-fight. Incapacitates 1,200 attackers in the parking lot.

1982-2002: No sightings.

February 23, 2003: Accepts a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. Smashes head through 2x4. Gives Paul Simon a long hug, culminating in a sleeper hold. Releases three smoke bombs. Disappears. Reappears. Offers to trade Grammy for 75 cinder blocks. Runs offstage, sobbing.

2004-Present: No sightings.
